Terms of Service, Shipping, Returns & Privacy Policy

Welcome to The S!lly Goose! We know policies aren’t as exciting as our goofy goose merch, but they’re important. This document lays out our Terms of Service, Shipping & Returns info, and our Privacy Policy – all in one place. We’ll keep things clear, professional (with a dash of fun), and easy to understand. By hanging out on our site or buying something, you’re agreeing to all the info below. So grab a comfy seat (or nest 🪹), and let’s get to it!

Terms of Service
Acceptance of These Terms

By using our website (browsing, clicking, buying, etc.), you officially agree to play by these rules – aka our Terms of Service. If you don’t agree (🥺), please don’t use our site. We might update these terms once in a blue moon. If we do, we’ll post the new terms on our site and maybe give a heads-up via email. Changes take effect once posted, and continuing to use the site means you accept the new terms.

Using Our Site

We built Silly Goose Brand to share awesome products and content with you. Feel free to browse, share our product pics on social (with credit, please), and purchase items. But make sure you use our site only for lawful, personal purposes. In other words, please do NOT:

  • Do anything illegal or abusive on our site (no cyber mischief or honking at others in a mean way).

  • Try to hack, disrupt, or damage our website or steal our code (our goose heavily guards this nest!).

  • Misuse our content – all text, images, logos, and designs here are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. That means you shouldn’t copy, reproduce, or republish any part of our site without our permission. (We worked hard on it, so be cool 😎.)

  • Use our site or products to pretend to be us, or misrepresent our brand in any way.

If you create an account with us (if that’s a thing on our site), keep your login info secret and secure. You’re responsible for anything that happens under your account. If someone who’s not you ends up ordering a lifetime supply of goose goodies via your account, that’s on you – so protect your password like a golden egg. And if you suspect unauthorized use of your account, let us know ASAP.

Purchases and Orders

When you buy something from Silly Goose Brand, you’re basically making an offer to purchase a product. We’ll send you an order confirmation when we accept that offer (at which point, cha-ching, a contract is formed). We do our very best to ensure product descriptions, pricing, and availability are accurate. However, we’re only human (geese) and mistakes can happen. Pricing or Description Errors: If something is listed incorrectly (e.g., a $0 price due to a glitch or a description typo), we reserve the right to correct it and cancel or refuse any order that was placed for the mistaken price/info. If you’ve already paid, no worries – we’ll refund you in full if we have to cancel. We also reserve the right to limit quantities per order or per customer if someone is trying to buy 500 of the same item or something wild.

Payment: All payments must be made at checkout via the options we provide (credit card, PayPal, magic beans – okay maybe not that last one). Ensure your payment info is accurate and that you have the right to use it. If your payment doesn’t go through, we can’t send your items (bummer, we know).

Shipping & Delivery: We’ll do our best to ship your order quickly – see our Shipping Policy below for details. Once we hand your package off to the carrier, things are largely out of our hands. We can’t guarantee exact delivery times or be responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier or customs. (We wish we could personally hand-deliver every package riding on a giant goose, but logistics are tricky!)

Returns and Refunds

We want you to love your Silly Goose purchase. If you don’t, our Return Policy below explains how you can send it back within 30 days for an exchange or refund. Please follow those guidelines; items need to be in original condition, etc., to qualify. We reserve the right to refuse a return if the item comes back looking like it had a rough night out.

Intellectual Property

All content on our site – from our logo and brand name to the product photos, descriptions, website design, and blog posts – is ours (or used by us with permission). We and our licensors retain all intellectual property rights for this content. We’re happy for you to enjoy it, share links, and even post our product photos on social media for non-commercial purposes (tag us, please!). But please do not steal, copy, reproduce, sell, or exploit any portion of our site or content without our express written permission. Basically, don’t be that goose.

The Silly Goose Brand name and logo are trademarks of our company. No use of our trademarks is allowed in any way that could confuse people (i.e., you can’t use our name or logo as if your site/product is affiliated with us when it’s not). If you want to collaborate or use our branding, reach out and we can maybe work something out!

Limitation of Liability (or “Don’t Sue the Goose”)

We strive to provide a great site and great products, but we’re not making any crazy promises or warranties beyond what the law says. In fact, our website and all content/products on it are provided “as is” without any warranties or conditions of any kind, either express or implied. That means we can’t guarantee the site will always be 100% bug-free or that our products will meet absolutely all your expectations (though we hope they do!).

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Silly Goose Brand (and our owners, team members, partners, etc.) will not be liable for any indirect damages or losses stemming from your use of our site or products. This includes things like lost profits, lost data, or random consequential damages. If something does go really wrong and we are found liable for whatever reason, our liability will be limited to the amount you paid us for the product or service at issue. We’re not trying to weasel (or goose) out of responsibility for things we’re required to do – any liability we can’t legally exclude isn’t excluded (for example, we wouldn’t avoid liability for any gross negligence or willful misconduct on our part, where the law doesn’t allow it)

jumpseller.com

. Bottom line: we’ll do our best to make you happy, but if things go off the rails, your remedies are limited.

Indemnification

This is the part where we kindly ask you to cover us if your misuse of our site causes us problems. By using our site, you agree that if you do something that breaches these terms or violates any law and it causes us to be sued or incur costs (for example, you post some defamatory review using our name and we get in trouble), you will indemnify (compensate) Silly Goose Brand and our team for the losses, including legal fees. We hope that never ever comes up – let’s all be nice and avoid drama!

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our site at any time if we believe you’ve violated these Terms or are engaging in improper use. If you’re a bad egg (bad goose?), we can revoke your rights under these Terms. If that happens, the sections regarding Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, etc., will still survive termination (because legal stuff sticks around).

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where our company is based (insert fancy legal region here – e.g., the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles). If there’s any dispute between us, we’ll try to resolve it amicably first. If we have to get legal, any litigation will happen in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction. (But let’s be friendly and not get to that point, okay? 🤞)

Shipping Policy

We know you want your Silly Goose goodies ASAP, and we’re on it! Here’s the low-down on our shipping process and policies, explained in plain English:

  • Order Processing Time: Once you place your order, give us a short time to do a happy dance 💃 and then pack your items. Usually, we ship out orders within 1-3 business days. (Business days are Monday-Friday, excluding holidays, a.k.a. when our geese take a day off.) Orders placed after about 5 PM or on weekends start processing the next business day. We’ll email you a confirmation when your order is on its way.

  • Shipping Methods & Times: We offer several shipping options at checkout (standard, expedited, etc.). We typically ship via reliable carriers like USPS, UPS, or FedEx (no actual carrier pigeons, we promise 🕊️). Standard shipping within the U.S. usually takes about 5-7 business days after dispatch. If you choose an expedited option, it might arrive in ~2-3 business days after dispatch. International orders (if we ship to your country) can take anywhere from 7-21 business days depending on your location. Note: These timeframes are estimates – once we hand the package to the carrier, delivery speed is out of our control.

  • Shipping Costs: Shipping costs will be calculated and shown at checkout. We try to keep rates fair. Occasionally, we might run free shipping promotions (e.g., free standard shipping on orders over a certain amount – keep an eye out for those sweet deals 🤑). If you do qualify for free shipping, it’ll apply automatically at checkout. International shipping will typically cost more (sorry, we wish teleportation was a thing).

  • Tracking Your Order: As soon as we ship, we’ll send you a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. Use it to stalk your package’s journey to your doorstep. (Cue the excitement! 📦✨) It might take 24 hours for tracking info to update, so don’t panic if you check immediately and it’s not showing movement.

  • Customs & Import Fees (International): If you’re outside of our home country, your government might charge import duties or taxes when your package arrives. Those fees are your responsibility. We don’t have control over those charges or delays due to customs processing. Every country is different; maybe have a quick look at your local import rules if you’re curious or concerned.

  • Delivery Issues: We do our darndest to ensure smooth delivery. Double-check that your shipping address is correct when ordering – typos in the address can cause delays or lost packages (and sad honks all around). We can’t be responsible if a package gets delivered to the wrong place because the address provided to us was incorrect. If a package is returned to us due to an address issue or being unclaimed, we’ll contact you to arrange reshipment (additional shipping fees may apply for resending).

  • Delays: Sometimes, life (and weather, and global pandemics, etc.) happens. Carriers might face delays due to storms, holidays rush, or other unexpected events. If your package is taking a while, please check the tracking info first. Often, it’s on the way but just taking a scenic route. If it’s significantly past the expected delivery window, contact us and we’ll do our best to help figure out what’s up. However, please understand that once we hand it over to the carrier, we can’t control shipping transit times and we can’t be held liable for carrier delays or losses beyond our control. We’ll absolutely assist in filing lost package claims or tracking investigations, though – we want you to get your goodies!

  • Lost or Stolen Packages: If the tracking says “delivered” but you don’t have it, first, check around (and with neighbors or your front desk if you live in an apartment). Sometimes carriers mark delivered a bit early or leave packages in odd places. If it truly seems lost or possibly stolen, let us know. We might ask you to check with the carrier/post office as well. We’ll work with you to find a solution – customer happiness is our priority. While we can’t outright replace every lost/stolen package (since we aren’t the ones who misplaced it), we’ll handle these on a case-by-case basis and do what we can to make it right.

In short, we’ll pack and ship your order quickly, give you the info to track it, and support you if there are hiccups. Most packages arrive smooth and swift. Thank you for your patience and understanding with the shipping process – we appreciate you! 🥰

Return Policy

Not in love with your purchase? No worries – we’ve got a hassle-free return policy to make things right. We want you to be happy with your Silly Goose experience, even if that means sending something back. Here’s how it works:

  • 30-Day Return Window: You can return or exchange items within 30 days of receiving your order. If 30 days have flown by, sorry, we usually can’t offer a refund or exchange (hey, we have to set some limits). But if you have an extraordinary situation, reach out and we’ll see what we can do (we’re reasonable geese).

  • Condition of Items: To be eligible for a return or exchange, the items must be in their original condition – that means unworn, unwashed, and with all original tags/packaging intact. Feel free to try things on (how else would you know if it fits or suits you?), but please avoid wearing items out and about if you might return them. Items that come back to us with obvious signs of use (stains, smells, damages, missing tags, your dog’s fur all over it, etc.) may be refused or subject to a restocking fee. We also can’t take back perishable goods or personal care items (for hygiene reasons), and any final sale or clearance items are non-returnable if we marked them as such on the product page.

  • How to Initiate a Return: Easy peasy – just contact our friendly support team at support@sillygoosebrand.com to start a return. Please include your order number and let us know which item(s) you’d like to return and why (your feedback helps us improve!). We’ll respond with next steps, including the return shipping address and any RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) details if needed. Please don’t send back items without contacting us first – we need to know what’s coming to match it to your order.

  • Return Shipping: In most cases, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. We currently do not offer prepaid return labels (we’re still a growing brand), so you’ll have to mail the item back to us using your preferred shipping method. We highly recommend using a trackable shipping service (and getting shipping insurance for higher-value items) when you send something back. If the return package gets lost on its way to us and there’s no tracking, we can’t be held responsible for it. So hang on to that tracking number until we confirm we got the package. If the return is due to our error – e.g., we sent the wrong item or it arrived damaged – we’ll cover the return shipping or provide a label, of course. In those cases, we got you! 💪

  • Refunds & Processing: Once we receive your returned item, we’ll inspect it lickety-split. Assuming it meets the conditions above, we’ll process your refund or exchange. Refunds will be issued to your original payment method (credit card, PayPal, etc.) and you’ll get an email notification. Please allow a few days for the refund to show up in your account – banks and credit card companies can be slower than a goose crossing the road. Typically, you might see the refund credit within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank. If you paid any original shipping fees, note that those are usually non-refundable (shipping companies won’t give us that money back once they’ve delivered your package). So your refund will cover the cost of the product minus any original shipping, unless the return was due to our mistake, in which case we’ll refund everything, including shipping.

  • Exchanges: Want a different size or color? As long as it’s in stock, we can process an exchange for you (instead of a refund). The fastest way is: you send back the item you don’t want, and we’ll ship the new item after we receive the return (we’ll cover the cost to ship the new item to you for U.S. customers; international exchange reshipments might require a small shipping fee). Alternatively, we might suggest you place a new order for the replacement to secure it, and we’ll just refund the original item when it comes back to us. We’ll work with you on the best solution.

  • Items Damaged or Defective: Oh no! We do our best to ensure quality, but if you received an item that’s damaged or has a manufacturing defect, please contact us right away (with a photo if possible). That’s on us – we’ll make it right either by sending a free replacement or issuing a full refund, including any shipping you paid. You won’t have to pay to return a defective or incorrect item.

  • Gift Returns: If you received a Silly Goose item as a gift and want to return it, we’re happy to help. If the item was marked as a gift at purchase, we can offer you store credit for the value of the return (so you can pick something else you like!). If it wasn’t marked as a gift (e.g., the giver had the order shipped to themselves first), the refund will go back to the original purchaser’s payment method for security reasons.

In short, we want the return process to be straightforward and fair. Our goal is 100% satisfaction (or as close as humanly – or goose-ly – possible). If you have any questions about returns or exchanges, just ask! We promise to do our best to keep you a happy member of the gaggle.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is super important to us. We know everyone says that, but we mean it – we’re customers too, and we cringe at shady data practices. Below is our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from our site. We’ll keep it as easy-to-read as possible (no law degree required).

What Information We Collect

When you interact with Silly Goose Brand (like browsing our site or placing an order), we collect a few types of information:

  • Information You Provide Directly: This is the info you knowingly give us. For example, when you place an order, you provide your name, billing address, shipping address, payment details (like credit card info), email address, and phone number – all that jazz. If you create an account on our site, you might also provide a username and password. If you subscribe to our newsletter or fill out a contact form, you’re providing your email and possibly other details. Basically, any form where you type in info – we’ll collect what you type in, because, well, that’s how we fulfill your orders or respond to you.

  • Information We Collect Automatically: When you visit our website, some info gets automatically slurped up by our system (common to most websites). This includes details like: your device’s IP address, your browser type and version, your device identifiers (if on mobile), your time zone, and possibly how you found our site (like what link or search term brought you here). We also collect info about your browsing actions on our site: what pages or products you viewed, how long you stayed, any clicks, etc. This helps us understand what people are interested in and improve our site experience. We typically gather this through cookies and similar tracking technologies (see “Cookies” below).

  • Cookies and Similar Tech: Ah, cookies…not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. Cookies are small data files stored on your browser. Our site uses cookies to remember things like what’s in your cart, whether you’re logged in, and your preferences. They also help us collect the analytics info mentioned above (like Google Analytics may set cookies to help us analyze site traffic). We might use web beacons or pixel tags too (tiny images or codes that track if you open an email or visit a page). You can set your browser to reject cookies or alert you when cookies are being used. Just note: if you disable cookies, our site might not remember your cart or login, which could make your experience less smooth. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals, only because there’s no standard for that yet – but if you have DNT enabled, we still limit tracking to typical site analytics and advertising as described here.

  • Information from Others: This isn’t too common, but if you log in via a social media account or a third-party (like using Google or Facebook login), we might receive info from them (like your name and email via that login). Also, if a friend sends you a gift from our site, we may get your shipping info from them. We only use such info for the specific purpose it was provided.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Our site and offerings are not directed to kids. If you’re under 13, please don’t provide personal info. If we learn we’ve accidentally collected info from a child, we’ll delete it. Parents: if you suspect your under-13 child has provided us personal data, let us know so we can remove it.

How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect from you for various legitimate purposes (and none of the nefarious ones). Here’s what we do with it, in plain terms:

  • To Fulfill Orders and Provide Services: The most obvious use – if you buy something, we use your info to process payment, send you an order confirmation, ship the product to you, and generally fulfill the order. We also use your info to handle returns, exchanges, or customer support inquiries related to your orders.

  • Communication: We might use your contact info to communicate with you. This includes sending you updates about your order (shipping confirmations, etc.), responding to inquiries you send us, and sending newsletters or marketing emails if you signed up for them. (We promise not to spam – and you can unsubscribe any time with a click if our emails no longer spark joy.)

  • Marketing & Personalization: If you have opted in, we may send you promotional emails about new products, sales, or the latest shenanigans at Silly Goose HQ. We may also use data about your past browsing or purchases to tailor what we show you – for example, showing you items similar to what you liked before. Additionally, we might utilize advertising partners (like Facebook or Google Ads) to show you ads for our products on other platforms. This might involve using cookies or pixels from those partners on our site to very quietly say “hey, this person might like our stuff, show them an ad later.” This is pretty standard practice known as interest-based advertising. Importantly, this data is usually aggregated and doesn’t identify you by name – it just uses identifiers (like your browser or device). You can opt out of a lot of this type of ad targeting through tools like the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out site or your device settings for mobile ads. We will not flood you with ads; we just want any ads you do see to be relevant and not annoying.

  • Site Improvement & Analytics: We continuously want to make our website better (because we’re always learning from you all!). We use the automatically collected info (and sometimes surveys or feedback you provide) to analyze usage trends and improve our site design, layout, and functionality. For instance, knowing which pages are most popular or where people drop off in the checkout process helps us refine those areas. For this we might use third-party analytics tools like Google Analytics. These tools collect info about your interaction with our site. This helps us see aggregate patterns (e.g., “50% of visitors look at t-shirts first”). It’s mostly statistical data – nothing that screams out your individual identity to us in this context.

  • Preventing Fraud and Ensuring Security: Unfortunately, there are bad actors out there. We may use personal information (especially things like IP address, order history, and so on) to screen for fraudulent transactions (e.g., stolen credit cards, fake identities) and to monitor for security threats. This helps protect both you and us. For example, we might automatically flag an order for review if it’s a high-value purchase with a shipping address in a new country, etc., to ensure it’s legit. We also maintain safeguards on our site to prevent unauthorized access to accounts and data. Your info helps us identify and squash suspicious behavior.

  • Legal Obligations and Compliance: We may need to use and retain your information to comply with laws (e.g., keeping records for tax purposes, or disclosures required by financial regulations) or to respond to lawful requests by public authorities (like a court order to release information). We’ll also use or disclose your info if necessary to protect our rights or the rights, property, or safety of our users or others. For instance, disclosing info to law enforcement if someone is doing something fraudulent or harmful in relation to our site.

Basically, we use your info to run our business smoothly and to give you a great customer experience, not for selling your data to strangers or other sketchy stuff. If we ever want to use your info for a new purpose not covered by this policy, we’ll ask for your consent if required.

How We Share Your Information

First things first: We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties for money or any other compensation. (No amount of breadcrumbs is worth betraying your trust!) We may share certain information with third parties, but only in the following contexts:

  • Service Providers (a.k.a. the trusted helpers): We work with a number of third-party companies to operate our business. For example, the payment processor that handles your credit card, the warehouse or fulfillment partners that pack and ship your order, the email service that sends out our newsletters, or the platform hosting our website. These are our service providers, and we share information with them only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services. For instance, we’ll give the shipping company your address so they can deliver your package, or give our email provider your email address so we can contact you. These third parties are contractually obligated to keep your info confidential and to use it only for the purposes we specify– they can’t go off and use your data for their own marketing or anything like that.

  • Advertising and Analytics Partners: As mentioned, we may use third-party tools for analytics (like Google Analytics) or advertising (like Facebook Ads, Google Ads). These partners may receive certain data (via cookies or pixels on our site) about your device or browsing activity. For example, Google Analytics will get data about your site usage, and Facebook might get a hashed identifier to see if you also have a Facebook account for ad targeting. Important: This data is usually pseudonymous – we’re not literally handing over your name or address to these analytics or ad companies. They’re collecting info via our site for their services with our authorization. You can opt out of a lot of these – for example, Google Analytics has an opt-out browser add-on, and you can control Facebook ad settings from your profile. We only engage with reputable providers who have their own privacy safeguards. If you’d like more details on how to opt-out of targeted ads, here are a couple of links: Network Advertising Initiative Opt-Out or DAA WebChoices Tool. (Not a promo, just helpful resources!)

  • Business Transfers: If, gulp, Silly Goose Brand ever merges with another company, or if we decide to sell the company or a portion of our business or assets, user information (including personal info) is typically one of the assets that gets transferred to the new owner. For example, if some Big Fancy Conglomerate buys Silly Goose Brand (hey, it could happen), then they would obtain the customer information as part of the deal, but they would be bound by this same privacy policy (or you’d get notice and a chance to opt out if the policy changes). Similarly, if we ever (knock on wood) went out of business or entered bankruptcy, your info might be transferred or sold as an asset, but we would aim to ensure the protection of your info through that process as required by law.

  • Legal Requirements: We might disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (like a subpoena, court order, or government demand). Also, if necessary to protect our rights, property, and safety or that of our customers or others (for example, providing info to law enforcement to investigate fraud or a cybercrime), we’ll share information as needed. We’ll only do this when legally justified, and we’ll narrow the scope to what’s necessary.

  • With Your Consent: If you explicitly ask us to share your information with a third party, or you otherwise consent to it, we’ll do so. For instance, if we run a collaboration with another brand and you opt in to share info with them, or if you ask us to provide a testimonial with your name on our site. This is generally under your control and only with your clear knowledge.

Rest assured, we do not share or sell any of your personal info to random advertisers or data brokers. No weird third-party is getting your email or phone number from us so they can spam you. Any sharing is either to serve you (order fulfillment, etc.), to improve our services (analytics), for our own marketing (ads targeting our content to you), or because we’re legally obligated. In any case, your data stays in safe, responsible hands. 🧤

(For California residents: We also want to clarify that, per the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. If in the future we ever engaged in something that could be considered a “sale,” we would implement a “Do Not Sell My Info” link and honor opt-out requests. As of now, we just don’t do that.)

Data Security

We take security seriously – we guard your personal info like a goose guards its goslings. Our website uses industry-standard security measures to protect your data. For example, we implement HTTPS encryption (see that little lock icon in your browser?🔒) for data transfer, meaning any info you send us (like payment details) is encrypted in transit. We also use secure servers and may employ additional safeguards like firewalls, access controls, and encryption at rest where appropriate.

Our payment processing is handled by compliant third-party services (like Stripe or PayPal, etc.), which means we don’t store your credit card info on our servers. For any data we do store, we restrict access to employees or contractors who need that info to perform their job (for example, our shipping team needs your address, but they don’t need your password or payment details). Those who have access are trained on privacy and security.

That said – and here’s the standard disclaimer – no method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. We wish we could promise impenetrable security, but there’s always some risk in any online system. So while we will do our best to protect your info, we cannot guarantee absolute security of data sent to our site. By using our services, you acknowledge that there’s some inherent risk. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will follow all applicable laws to inform affected users and take necessary steps to mitigate the damage.

Data Retention

We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. In practical terms:

  • Order and purchase information is generally kept at least for the duration that you have an account with us or as needed to provide services to you. Even if you delete your account, we might retain certain info in order to comply with legal obligations (like record-keeping for taxes and audits), to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or as otherwise required by law.

  • If you sign up for marketing emails, we keep your contact info until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it (or if we decide to scrub our list of long-inactive subscribers).

  • Browsing analytics data is usually stored in aggregate form and not tied directly to you after a certain point. Some cookies and tracking data expire after a set time (e.g., Google Analytics data might be kept for 26 months, but it’s not personal at that point, just aggregated trends).

When we no longer have a legitimate need or legal requirement to keep your personal information, we will securely dispose of it (by deletion or anonymization, for instance).

Your Rights and Choices

You’re in control of your info, and you have certain rights. Here are some of the choices and rights you have regarding your personal data with us:

  • Updating Your Info: If you have an account, you can log in and update your profile information (like shipping address or email) anytime. If you need to update info on an order that’s in process, contact us ASAP at support@sillygoosebrand.com – if it hasn’t shipped yet, we can often adjust details like shipping address.

  • Access and Correction: You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. In fancy terms, this is a “data subject access request.” You can also ask us to correct or rectify any info that’s inaccurate or incomplete. For example, if you believe we have the wrong birthdate (though we don’t typically collect that) or misspelled name on file, let us know and we’ll fix it.

  • Deletion (Right to be Forgotten): You can ask us to delete your personal information. Keep in mind, this isn’t absolute – if we have a legal obligation to keep certain data (like past transaction records for accounting) we might not delete those, but we’ll let you know. If you simply want to delete your customer account, we can certainly do that and scrub the personal info associated with it, aside from what we need to retain by law. Deleting your info might mean we won’t be able to find your past orders for support, etc., so consider this as an option when you really want all your data gone.

  • Opting Out of Marketing: You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails anytime by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any newsletter or promo email. Alternatively, shoot us an email saying “please remove me from the mailing list” and we’ll take care of it. Note that you’ll still receive transactional messages (order confirmations, shipping notices, etc.) if you make purchases, because those aren’t promotional – they’re just part of the service.

  • Cookies & Tracking Choices: As mentioned, you can control cookies through your browser settings. You can also use tools to opt out of Google Analytics or interest-based ads, as described above in the How We Share section. If you want a more hands-on approach, you can clear cookies after each session or use browser extensions to manage trackers. Just be aware this might degrade your experience on our and other websites.

  • California Residents: If you’re a California resident, you have some additional rights under the CCPA, like the right to request a notice describing what categories of personal info we’ve shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes (though, as we said, we don’t share data for others’ direct marketing). You also have the right to opt-out of any “sale” of personal info (again, we don’t do that), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. If you want to exercise any CCPA rights, contact us and we’ll guide you through it.

  • EU/UK Residents (GDPR): If you’re in the EU or UK, in addition to the above rights (access, correction, deletion), you may have the right to restrict processing or object to certain processing, and the right to data portability (to get your data in a commonly used format). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we’re mishandling your data. But honestly, we hope you’d talk to us first so we can address your concerns directly. We consider the legal basis for processing your data to typically be: performance of a contract (fulfilling orders), consent (for marketing or certain cookies), and legitimate interest (for improving our services and preventing fraud). If we ever rely on consent for something, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise any of your rights or ask questions about your data, you can contact us at support@sillygoosebrand.com. We might need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests (to make sure we don’t give your data to the wrong person). We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe, and certainly within any timeframe required by applicable law.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Just as with our Terms, we may update our Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes (like, say, we start collecting a new type of data or using it in a new way), we will notify you either by posting a prominent notice on our site or by sending you an email notification (or both). Minor changes (like clarifications or wording tweaks) will just be updated here with a new “Last Updated” date.

The current effective date of this Privacy Policy is listed below. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we’re protecting and using your info. By continuing to use our site after any changes are in effect, you accept the revised policy. (But don’t worry – if the changes are that significant, we’ll probably double-check that you know about them!)
